Where can I find information on United States forests to plan a family vacation?
I am 30 years old married with a young son and I want to find a family vacation spot anywhere in the United States that we can go each year.
I love being in and around nature and my favorite locations are in forests like the Sierra Nevadas. Specifically: Yosemite, Arrowhead, Lake Tahoe and Mammoth.
I am trying to find pictures of forests throughout the U.S. with descriptions. To date I am finding very few results despite my best efforts.
Can you recommend a favorite vacation spot where you go with your family each year? Do you have pictures and stories about why you enjoy these locations?
Thank you!
Check with the U.S. Forest Service and the Park Service. A really neat area is in SE Oklahoma and W Ark., the Ouchita National Forest. Check out the Talamina Scenic Byway. Also close to Hot Springs National Park (old bathhouse row and great scenery.)
