Going skiing at Heavenly near Lake Tahoe??
Me and a friend are going skiing in a couple of weeks to Heavenly.
Ive heard this might not be the best deal in skiing at Lake Tahoe but its right by our hotel and we wont have a car so its more convienent.
I have skiied in the eastern US before but my friend hasnt ever seen snow. He is athletic and claims he doesnt wanna spend the 165 on a lesson.
Should we both suck it up and fork out the cash for the all day lesson and then buy another days skiing to go out by ourselves since Ive read skiing out in the east doesnt compare in difficulty to out west, or is Heavenly Ski resort as beginner type ski resort that wouldnt be bad.
Heavenly has a pretty good variety of terrain, so there will be runs for you and your friend to explore. However, in my opinion, Heavenly has the BEST beginner ski school at Lake Tahoe, and one of the best in the country. If your friend has never skied, then it is worth the money to enroll in a ski school.
I would also note that the $165 price your buddy is citing is for equipment, passes AND a full day’s lesson. There’s also the same deal for a 3 day school that is $425. Given that tickets at Heavenly are running $125 for 2 days, I’d say the lesson package is the way to go.
