Lake tahoe/denver/ taos????need to experience snow?
hi, it may sound silly to some of you northies..live in Texas..never experienced a few inches of snow..today its 80F..unbelievable..
we are a couple/no kids/ planning to take a vacation for couple days in a snowy region..preferably some mountains..
Jut checcked lake Tahoe and they are “making” snow on ski resorts..DONT WANT TO SPEND all that money TO SEE ARTIFICIAL SNOW powder..
also not want to visit any place where the snow is only on top of mountain ..I want to touch it ..walk in it..
Is it too late for the season?
Never driven on a snowy road…is it dangerous to visit these place in winter???
Answers from the local in the above areas greatly appreciated..
Well never been to Lake tahoe but have been to Taos, if you like tourist traps that is a great place to go. My mom is originally from there. It is a neat little town though.
As for Colorado, nope not to late for snow but right now we dont have any, just been a little windy lately is all. And as for the Driving conditions you were wondering about, yes it could be dangerous but here in Colorado, they do a pretty good job of keeping the streets clean from the snow but it can get really slick at night so if your not used to it, definetly do not drive at night during a snow storms. During the day when the sun is out you should be fine.
I dont know when it will snow again but I’m sure it will this is still January and we get snow from now until March. But we do have snow up in the mountains and if it is nice down in the cities you can take a drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park and there you can go play in the real snow all you want and not have to worry about being in a ski resort area.
Hope this answers your questions but like I said we dont have a lot of snow right now but it will come weather we like it or not.
